Volunteering in the Community Asdan award (92 points equivalent to a double GCSE grade B)

Runs over a 16 week period where your volunteering is recognized and evidenced in a portfolio. There is an excellent support team to help in all areas including building the portfolio, help with literacy, finding suitable placements etc. The course is currently being run from St Benet Biscop Catholic High School in Bedlington but will look at other areas in the future. The next course is due to start in September 2008.

In addition to the national qualification, there are also opportunities to obtain further certificates in first aid, health and safety, drugs misuse, safeguarding children, Knex, face-painting, equal opportunities, film making, robot building, coaching, refereeing and even nail art! In fact, whatever your interests we will try and tailor a programme suitable for you personally.
