Funding Success

Funding Success

We are continually accessing small and large funding streams to help us deliver our myriad of projects. It’s a tough part of the job but the rewards definitely come with the opportunities it helps to provide for so many families and the community across our partnership.

We were really lucky to access some Family Learning funding which enabled us to run two programmes, one in the North and one in the South of the County. Activities included sports, arts, drama, cooking, numeracy including ‘Are You Smarter than a 7-year old?’ and ‘Supermarket Sweep’ and climbing trees. We are really pleased to announce we have been successful in this year’s funding and so we will be planning a lot of family fun and activities from now until July 2010. (See events). We have also gained funding to look at transition work which will enable us to work with children and parents from years 4, 6 and 8 on all transition issues.

Other areas of funding has covered gardening, youth work, cooking clubs, Food 4 Life, and research (from Youth Advisory Board, YAB and the Integrated Services for Youth People, ISYP)

Funding has been gathered from many sources including Keyfund, the Y Fund, ContinYou, Awards for All to name but a few.

Our sincere thanks go to all school staff, volunteers, students and independent providers who have helped with all these projects-without them, we would never have seen such success.

JUST IN!  We have just received £35,000 from WEEN to go towards our new family community hub!  We also have £3,000 from the Y-Fund to go towards the tea room run by young people and £400 from a breakfast club also run by some of the St Benet Biscop Youth Ambassadors.  We're nearly half way there!
