e-learning, child psychology, family finance, literacy to name just a few. These short courses (ranging from 6 weeks to 20 weeks) are run by Mel Arbon who has done a lot of work with our partnership over the last few years. |

Training for Group Facilitators |
|
Delivered by Parent Initiative a training package with a local provider which gives them license to run a 5 day Support Group Facilitation Skills Training Level 3 NCFE.
This course provides experiential learning and theories to group work.
It can be delivered to other professionals already working in the field, or to parents as a stepping stone towards facilitation group work.

Volunteering in the Community Asdan award |
|
Volunteering in the Community Asdan award (92 points equivalent to a double GCSE grade B)
Runs over a 16 week period where your volunteering is recognized and evidenced in a portfolio. There is an excellent support team to help in all areas including building the portfolio, help with literacy, finding suitable placements etc. The course is currently being run from St Benet Biscop Catholic High School in Bedlington but will look at other areas in the future. The next course is due to start in September 2008.
